Free Trial Terms

The free trial is a trade. We prepare your debriefs and product page checks for free, and in exchange the results of your campaigns calibrate your own crowds and help us calibrate our shared crowds. These terms add to our Terms of Service and privacy page, and where they differ, these win for your trial.

Who you're dealing with

Crowdsim is a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada, run by Andrew Ko. Write to hello@crowdsim.ca about anything on this page.

The trade

  • What you get. Free debriefs and product page checks for the length of your trial, as we've agreed with you in writing.
  • What you get as well. Your own copy of each crowd you use, calibrated against your results, so it gets closer to your customers. Only you use it.
  • What we get. Your permission to use the results of the campaigns and products you check with us, with your names taken out, to calibrate the shared crowds every customer uses: we compare what the crowd said with what really happened, so the crowds get closer to real shoppers over time.
  • You agree once. When you start the trial, in the app, by ticking a box that links to this page. We keep the date and the version you agreed to.

What we use, and what we never use

  • What we use. The results you upload for each ad (impressions, clicks, spend, orders or conversions, and their value), the results of the tests a debrief suggests, your ads and product pages themselves, and the crowd's reactions to them.
  • What we never use. Customer lists, anyone's personal information, or individual orders. We don't ask for them and don't want them. The Shopify app reads your products only, never your orders or customers.
  • Connected ad accounts. Results we fetch from a connected Meta account calibrate only your own crowds, never the shared ones. They stay under our privacy page and Meta's own terms. The trade covers what you upload yourself.

How we use it

  • De-identified first. Before your results are used, your brand and campaign names are replaced with a category (for example, "packaged snacks, Canada"). We never publish them or show them to another customer with your name on them.
  • Never sold or shared. We don't sell, license or share your results with anyone else.
  • Calibrating, not training someone else's AI. Calibrating means checking and adjusting our own crowds: who is in them and how much each person counts. We don't send your results to Anthropic or any other model provider to train their models.
  • In what we publish. If we publish how well our crowds match real results, your results can be part of the totals, but never in a way that identifies you.

Your choices

  • It stays yours. Your campaigns, results and debriefs remain yours, or your client's.
  • Stop any time. Write to hello@crowdsim.ca and we'll stop using your results from then on and delete our copies, as our deletion page describes. A calibration we've already made from many customers' results can't be taken apart one customer at a time, so it stays, with nothing in it that identifies you.
  • After the trial. On a paid plan your results keep calibrating your own crowds, and the shared crowds only if you tick the box that allows it.

If you're an agency

If a campaign's results belong to your client, only start a trial with that campaign once your client has agreed. If they haven't, tell us and we'll keep that campaign out of the trade.

Changes

If these terms change, the version and date at the top change with them. A new version applies to you only if you agree to it; until then, the version you agreed to applies.
